Pen and acrylic on a SG standard Gibson Electric Guitar. Mahogany neck and body, rosewood fingerboard, humbucking neck and bridge pick ups, signed by members of LostProphets 990 mm by 330 mm Richard "Jamie" Oliver received his degree in Fine Art in Bristol and forged a career in painting in the late nineties with numerous national solo and mixed exhibitons. His work addressed the void left in a post industrial Wales and the identity crisis of the young generation in a struggle to find pride in their country. He fused images of contemporary life with mythical spoken word stories from ancient welsh folklore, the Mabinogion. His work accented the German expressionists of the middle of the last century and the Scottish expressionists of the 80s such as Peter Howson and John Bellany. Whilst undertaking his Masters in Cardiff, the band (Lostprophets, a group of friends from Pontypridd) received acclaim on their first record and Richard dedicated all his time to music. Since then, Lostprophets have received a number of platinum records and numerous awards, most recent Kerrang's "Best British Band 2007". The band are currently recording their 4th record in Los Angeles. Richard has maintained his interest in Art and worked with the bands singer Ian Watkins on all the Bands visuals, album covers and artwork. The winner bidder of this guitar will be invited to an arena show as a guest of The Lost Prophets and have their photo taken with the band and their GuitarTown guitar Categor Read more…
