A hero riding costume worn by the Samurai Weapons Master Ujio, played by Hiroyuki Sanada in the historical drama The Last Samurai (Warner Bros. , 2003). This elaborate multi-layered battle costume consists of a full set of scaled outer armor, which includes a do (torso section), a pair of sode (shoulder guards), two kote (armored sleeves made from an aluminum chain mail), a kusazuri (armored skirt), and a pair of suneate (shin guards). The armor segments are made of a variety of materials, including plastic, leather and metal. The costume includes an off-white cotton undersuit as well as a deep red overshirt and pants overprinted with a gold floral design and finished with decorative trim. A quilted dark green vest with gold overprinting is worn under the armor, and a traditional Obi belt and Tabi shoes complete the outfit. Also included is a plastic, leather and metal helmet with the distinctive long horns, a hard rubber stunt wakizashi sword, and a smaller aluminum katana sword, both in plastic sheaths.
