$3,250
A red, left hand Everlast boxing glove, originally donated by Ali to a fundraiser for Parkinson’s Disease research. The glove not only bears Ali’s signature in black marker, but also a poem written in his hand: “Service to others is the rent that we pay on earth for our room in heaven!' Ali also drew a small heart shape beneath his signature. Also included in the lot is a photocopy of the back cover of the March 6, 1964 of Life magazine. The back cover consists of a print ad for Chesterfield cigarettes featuring Sean Connery. It is signed by Ali in black marker and inscribed “peace and love” with a drawn heart, all in Ali’s hand. Accompanied by a detailed certificate of authenticity from Tim Shanahan detailing how the glove was signed on January 23, 2010 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
