A group of materials signed by British actors, including a playbill from the 2001 play Dance of Death , signed on the cover “for Danny/ + Barry/ all wishes/ Ian McKellen” with an accompanying handwritten card from Lee, Sir McKellen’s assistant, expressing his condolences; a black and white photograph of Jim Broadbent, inscribed “To Danny with best wishes, Jim Broadbent”; a photograph of Ron Moody written in blue ink “To Danny with love Ron Moody,” accompanied by a self-portrait of Moody, dated May 2001 and reading in part “Have faith, dear lad!”; a copy of Brian Aherne’s A Proper Job (Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1969) signed on the loose endpaper “Brian Aherne ’69”; and a black and white photograph of Ben Kingsley inscribed “To Danny: Ben Kingsley 2001.” Some are accompanied by original transmittal envelopes.
