A form-fitting leather costume made for Valeria, played by Sandahl Bergman in Conan the Barbarian (Universal, 1982). The costume consists of crossed panels of formed leather with protective front and back panels and built-in trunks held together and detailed with leather strips. The front panel is adorned with round metal studs. The outfit includes a pair of knee-high brown leather Caset boots detailed with metal studded brown leather straps, brown cotton cord, and trimmed in fur. The boots have 3-inch heels that are concealed by wood blocks put in the void between the sole and heel, then wrapped in leather. This outfit was eventually considered too revealing and was redesigned for the production because of the rigors of filming the movie’s action. However, the costume was worn by Bergman in character in various promotional images for the film. Categories: Conan
