A Sony KCA60 videocassette that was used by the producers of the Ali vs. Frazier II bout to record the original closed-circuit broadcast of the fight. Jack Kent Cooke, then owner of the Los Angeles Rams, and Hollywood producer/fight promoter Jerry Perenchio promoted the fight. The tape was recorded for Perenchio, who then gave the tape to Ali. Ali used this exact videotape at his training camp in Deer Lake, Pennsylvania, so that he could study Frazier in preparation for their third fight, the “Thrilla in Manila.” After transferring the footage to VHS format in 1976, Ali gave the tape to his friend Tim Shanahan. Signed “Muhammad Ali ’76” in black pen on the tape label. Accompanied by a Muhammad Ali signed DVD of the footage and a letter of provenance from Tim Shanahan. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of this lot will be donated to The Muhammad Ali Museum and The Muhammad Ali Parkinsons Foundation. Categories:
