A sculpture of the mathematician Archimedes poised in the bath representing when he made a famous discovery and ran naked through the streets of ancient Syracuse shouting “Eureka! ” This statue of Archimedes in the bath is seen as the town centerpiece on Eureka (NBCUniversal, 2006-2012). Carved from foam, then coated, the statue originally appeared to be made of stone, but when the show’s characters returned from 1947 to an altered reality, they found the stature of Archimedes was now made of bronze, and the foam statue was repainted to reflect the new material.
