On October 3, 1951, Bobby Thomson of the New York Giants hit a game-winning home run off of Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher Ralph Branca at The Polo Grounds in New York City to win the National League pennant for the Giants. It is considered one of the most famous moments in Major League Baseball history. Signed and inscribed "Ralph Branca/ The Shot Heard 'Round/ The World Oct. 3, 1951" and "Bobby Thomson/ "The Shot Heard Round The World"/ Oct. 3, 1951," both in blue marker.
