Acrylic on canvas portrait of Michael Jackson by Nate Palant, inscribed on verso, "To my friend NAT Michael Jackson 1998 [000 with handdrawn arrow]. " Signed by artist in lower left corner. Palant was commissioned by Jackson to make a number of paintings for Jackson's Neverland Ranch. On a visit to Neverland, Palant saw this painting hanging in Jackson's bedroom. In a later conversation, Palant remarked to Jackson that this painting was his favorite of the works he created and he wished he had a print of it for his own home. Two weeks later Jackson shipped the now inscribed and signed painting to Palant as a gift. The image is also planned to be the cover of a coffee table book scheduled for a 2011-2012 release.
