A collection of two letters signed by Bette Davis referring to her home, Butternut, in Sugar Hill, New Hampshire, and images of the estate. The first letter, written on Merrill stationery, reads in part, "As to the pictures of Butternut - I have none available at the moment 0 the one things I haven't done since our move to Maine is to sort all of the books & photographs." Signed "Bette D." The second letter reads in part, "Will remember the photograph of Butternut - please forgive me for forgetting about it," and signed "Bette Davis." Accompanied by the original transmittal envelope dated November 1, 1959. Both letters are addressed to Phoebe Russell.
