$250,000
A military style jacket worn by John Lennon for The Beatles 1966 LIFE photoshoot with photographer Henry Grossman. Ivory colored jacket with blue detail at collar and gold rope accents throughout, five-button closure. Accompanied by four black and white photographs stamped on verso with the notation "H. Grossman/78301/Beatles." An additional black and white photograph and three color photographs of Lennon in the jacket. The jacket is thought to be a military band tunic, and the photoshoot was to reveal The Beatles' new look. Also present is a mimeographed copy of a letter of authenticity from Joel Morris, a driver for the Salvation Army, who obtained the jacket after making a donation pickup from Lennon and Yoko Ono's apartment; Morris saw the jacket and purchased it for himself.
