Rolling Stones censored proof for the original cover artwork for the album Beggar's Banquet. Printed on illustration board, which indicates this copy is also a bootleg version, with a handwritten story written by the co-creator of the cover, Michael Vosse, who writes in part, "We brought Mick and Keith to the site but did not tell them how vile this bathroom was...Mick looked startled but Keith just laughed." The bathroom was an actual bathroom at Tom Wilkes', fellow co-creator, mechanics bathroom in Hollywood. The Stones wanted to go ahead with the cover but both Decca and London records were firmly against the cover. The dispute went on for sixth months until the band gave in to the record labels, not wanting to miss the Christmas shopping season and a "invitation" cover replaced the bathroom cover. 13 1/2 by 25 1/2 inches Categories: The Rolling Stones
