A one-page letter from Lucille Ball to Joanne Perez. Letter is dated August 16, 1976 and reads, “Dearest Joanne: Loved hearing from you on my birthday. You are a sweet angel. Hope everything is alright with you. Fondly, Lucy.” The correspondence appears on Lucy’s lemon yellow personal stationery and is signed by Lucy in blue ink. Letter is accompanied by original matching envelope addressed to Joanne at her home in Santa Ana, California and postmarked August 17, 1976. Two return addresses appear on the envelope: Lucy’s studio address (Universal Studios) appears on the front of the envelope. The envelope’s backside flap shows her Beverly Hills home address. Accompanied by a snapshot of Joanne and Lucy during Lucy’s daughter’s birthday party taken 20 years earlier, in the summer of 1956. Lucie Arnaz and Keith Thibodeaux (“Little Ricky”) are among the children seen in the photo. Photograph and letter document a friendship that spanned for more than 20 years.
