A single page, typed letter signed in black ink by Madonna with additional strike out notations. The letter is addressed to "Pat," producer Patrick Leonard, and outlines her decision to work on her Ray of Light album with William Orbit. Leonard had worked with Madonna for many years and had begun work on Ray of Light with Madonna when she met William Orbit and decided to complete the album with him. The letter gives great insight into Madonna's thoughts and feelings about her decision: "...I really feel strongly about taking a new direction and William's sound is a complete departure. After making so many records it's what I need to get my blood boiling. I hope you will not be insulted or take offense by this decision.
