An SRO metal guitar stand owned by Kurt Cobain marked "Nirvana. " The stand was used on stage during their performance at Trees in Dallas, Texas, on October 19, 1991. Cobain smashed the stand on stage during the performance. Nirvana played the next night, October 20, 1991, at The Vatican in Houston, Texas. Nirvana's tour manager, Monty Lee Wilkes, gave the smashed guitar stand to Vatican manager Keith Pepper. The stand is accompanied by a poster promoting Nirvana's appearance at The Vatican on October 20 signed by the artist Uncle Charlie. Also accompanied by a statement signed by Keith Pepper and other Vatican employees attesting to the provenance of the guitar stand. Categories: Kurt Cobain
