French, 19th century. Terracotta sculptural bust of a cheerful young girl wearing a scarf over her hair and tied underneath her chin. Girl wearing additional ribboned bow in her hair at front. Scarf with subtle fringe on back. Sculptural bust of girl raised on a brown marble socle base. Apparently unsigned. Overall height (including base) 18.2 inches. Height of terracotta portion approximately 13.75 inches. Accompanied with copy of Camard receipt for terra cotta bust from Gammes at Marche Serpette, Saint Ouen, France and copy of business card from Phillippe and Evelyn Druz at Gammes with hand written notes on purchase price for the bust. Provenance: From the Estate of Mr. Thomas V. and Mrs. Marie B. Patton, Atlanta, Georgia.
