Signed by Cherie Curry of the Runaways Mixed Media. Sonia Lopez Chavez was born in beautiful Guanajuato, Mexico. In 1983, her parents sacrificed it all to cross over to San Diego, California, in hopes for better opportunities. She has three siblings who are also talented in art, fashion, and music. She won her first art contest in the second grade and had her painting displayed in the San Diego Art Museum. This experience was the beginning of her lifetime art journey. Since then she has had the opportunity to have her work featured in galleries all over San Diego, Sacramento, Los Angeles, and Mexico. In addition, her work is in private homes and businesses. “I try to live my life surrounded by good energy,” she says. “In return I am able to create work that is inspired by different cultures, people, and experiences.
