An animation cell used in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (Touchstone/Amblin, 1988). The cell consists of two layers: a black and white single frame background registration image of Eddie Valiant, played by Bob Hoskins, and the handpainted acetate cell above showing Jessica Rabbit, voiced by Kathleen Turner, interacting with Hoskins. These pieces are made on specially created animation acetate and thick card, with rectangular and round holes across the bottom edge to ensure absolutely no slippage during the animation. Each has been labeled for its relevant scene and layer, and the cell has a white “Walt Disney Company Certified” stamp top right dictating its provenance.
