A one-page typed letter signed by Ernest Hemingway to Silvano Suarez dated "12/10/55. " On "Finca Vigia San Francisco de Paula, Cuba" stationery, Hemingway's home in Cuba, and signed in black grease pencil. The letter is regarding Suarez's book El Esqueleto del Leopardo: Notas sobre la obra de Ernest Hemingway and reads in part "I am not indifferent, kid, am only over-run with work and having a rough year. I appreciate deeply your writing the book and my trouble is that I am shy and embarrassed when people talk about my books or my life...Some one promptly stole my copy of your book. That is an excellent sign that it is a good book as here they steal only the best.” Together with a copy of Suarez's book, signed by Suarez in ink on the title page.
