A group of three notes handwritten by Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, to her longtime steward at Clarence House, William Tallon. The notes read in full "For William I am going up to Royal Lodge in the morning, and I would like to see Caroline about lunch next week," "For William Would you please send to my bedroom 2 of the unsigned xmas cards & envelopes," and "For William I would like to see the chef in the morning." All are handwritten by the Queen Mother. Accompanied by an envelope of the Queen Mother's personal stationery that reads "Mr Tallon/ Clarence House." William Tallon, nicknamed Backstairs Billy, worked in service to the royals from the age of 15 and went on to become Steward and Page of the Backstairs for the Queen Mother.
