A black and white image of boxer Rubin “Hurricane” Carter talking with Bob Dylan during his period of incarceration. Signed “Rubin Hurricane Carter” in blue marker. Carter was convicted of triple homicide in 1967, a judgment that was eventually set aside when Carter was freed in 1985. Dylan, an advocate for Carter’s innocence and for re-trial of his case, wrote the song “Hurricane” (Columbia, 1976) as a protest song and in support of Carter. In 1976, Dylan performed the song at a concert at Trenton State Prison, where Carter was temporarily an inmate. 20 by 16 inches Categories:
