A sleeveless tan suede tunic with hand stitched embroidered detail, a leather harness decorated with metal buckles and a Star of David, leather armbands featuring multiple straps and buckles, and a blue wool cape with a pleated collar worn by Ben-Hur, played by Charlton Heston in Ben-Hur (MGM, 1959). Designed by Elizabeth Haffenden, the costume is displayed on a Life-Size Wax Mannequin of Heston with a wax head with hand plunged hair and glass eyes attached to a custom fiberglass body. The figure is mounted on a replica chariot as seen in the film. Display dimensions, 90 by 42 by 96 inches. Together with a black and white publicity still from the film.
