Photo Resist Materials, Photo Acetate, Paint on Epiphone guitar. For the last 37 years, Jerry Keller has enjoyed the opportunity to create in the medium of glass. His career in art started in photography and painting, then branched into the craft world. Since then, he has enjoyed explorations not imagined in his youthful dreams. Learning the traditional craft of stained glass fabrication led to etching and creating ways to merge his photographic background with the process of hand-cut glass etching. With the help of a partner, this morphed into the realm of photographic sandblasting, which allows great detail and crisp lines to be achieved in etched glassworks. In the last 12 years, Jerry has ventured into the world of warm glass, working with a kiln to slump and fuse glass—a new world of fluid glass transformation. Now he is able to once again be a painter and create the glass itself. Along with residential and commercial commissions, Jerry has been fortunate to have done work for many major corporations. In 2004, he etched an 11x8-foot glass map of the world for MSNBC at Rockefeller Center and also created the President’s Awards for Eaton Corporation and Applied Industrial Technologies.
