One-of-a-kind bass painted by Douglas Rogers and inspired by the Cheshire Cat from "Alice In Wonderland." Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the Walt Disney Company. Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Disney Magic Music Days at the Walt Disney World Resort. Basses generously provided by Conn-Selmer, Inc. Proceeds from the sale of this bass will benefit the GRAMMY Music education programs. About the Artist: Douglas Rogers'’ work as a designer has been diverse and encompasses several mediums. Currently, he is working as production designer on Disney'’s 2010 animated musical fairy-tale adventure Tangled, slated for release this November. Prior to that, he worked on Disney's The Princess and the Frog as visual development set designer and served as an art director for the DreamWorks feature Shrek (2001). "The idea to paint the Cheshire Cat from Disney'’s Alice in Wonderland on the bass was suggested by the shape of the instrument itself,"” says Douglas. "The curve at the bottom reminded me of the character. I was motivated to participate because my wife attended an arts school, and this was a chance to put something back into the community. When I went to the paint store with a sample of the film's pink character, the closest match they had was a Disney-branded product called '‘Happily Ever After.'’
