Bass of arched spruce top maple back and sides with inlaid purfling, Glaesel Model DB30 Gold Series, serial number T8189. Provided by Conn-Selmer Inc. One-of-a-kind bass painted by Brian Kesinger and inspired by the Genie from animated motion picture "Aladdin." Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the Walt Disney Company. This bass was displayed at the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles, California during the spring of 2010. Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Disney Magic Music Days at the Walt Disney World Resort. Basses generously provided by Conn-Selmer, Inc. Proceeds from the sale of this bass will benefit the GRAMMY Music education programs. About the Artist: Brian Kesinger has worked for Walt Disney Animation Studios for 13 years. He was hired right out of high school, at the age of 18, to be a layout assistant on the Disney animated feature Tarzan. He has gone on to work as a layout artist on such other Disney features as Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Treasure Planet, Meet the Robinsons, Home on the Range, and Bolt as well as the animated short film How to Hook Up Your Home Theater. "“I was always inspired by the level of art in Disney's Aladdin, and I liked the idea of painting the instrument to look like the Genie was playing it himself,"” says Brian. "“It was important to me to have the character look as authentic to the movie as possible, so I took my rough sketch to Eric Goldberg, the supervising animator who created the Genie.
