Mid-century modern daybed from the office of Marilyn Monroe's therapist, Dr. Ralph Greenson, with upholstered loose cushion and matching wedge-shaped headrest on a wooden frame. Greenson began treating Marilyn after her breakdown while filming the Misfits (Seven Arts, 1961). He was the brother-in-law of her Hollywood attorney. The entire Greenson family became involved in assisting Marilyn in her recovery. 16 1/2 by 75 1/4 by 31 1/4 inches. PROVENANCE From the Estate of Dr. Ralph Greenson, Monroe's analyst.
