Acrylic Paint on Epiphone guitar Since 1996, Jose Vasquez has worked as a telemetry technician, where he first learned about rhythms of the heart. One day in 2006 while he was at work, Jose witnessed a patient's rhythms become deadly. The patient passed away despite all efforts of the physicians and staff. This unfortunate event made Jose think about what was going through this patient's mind as the doctors and staff fought to save his life. The result was the drawing that he calls "Slow death." This traditional valentine heart is shaped with electrocardiographic rhythms. The series of heads surrounding the heart demonstrate his struggle from life to death. Art had been a long-desired pastime for Jose, but he had never pursued it until now. He considered what he could do that might interest people in his art in teh city of Cleveland. Both the Heart Center of the Cleveland Clinic and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame became inspiration for his original line of rhythmic guitars. Categories: Les Paul
