Denim Fabrics, Rhinestones, Roping, Acrylic Paint, Concert Ticket and a Bic Lighter on a Epiphone Les Paul guitar. Ellen Mullarkey is a painter and a mom with a nursing gig on the side. She obtained a BSN from St. Louis University and worked in critical care for eleven years. While still working as a nurse she completed a BA in painting from the University of Waterloo, Ontario. She now lives in Bay Village, Ohio and splits her time between painting and nursing. Ellen's oil painting, The Wader, was given first prize at the 2009 June Art Review at the Galleria in Cleveland, Ohio. When she heard about Cleveland Rocks she immediately remembered her 19 year old daughter commenting on how everyone wears blue jeans to concerts. That’s the “Rock ‘n Roll Tuxedo.” That inspired her to create an “homage” to blue jeans. That reminded her of the Neil Diamond concert that she went to with just her Dad. She blew off nursing finals and watched Neil Diamond open the concert with “America” and also sing “Forever In Blue Jeans.” It was a memory she'll never forget. Ellen's Dad is a huge Neil Diamond fan and they always had his music on the HiFi. She wants to thank Cleveland Rocks for giving her an opportunity to pay tribute to her Dad; the Rock ‘n Roll Tuxedo, AKA blue jeans; and the music of Neil Diamond that will always take her back to her family. By the way…..She did great on the finals. Categories: Les Paul
