A typed statement from Hank Snow describing his partnership in a booking agency with Col. Tom Parker and Snow’s part in the management of Elvis Presley. This lot includes five typed pages; four of the pages are the complete Snow statement and the fifth page is a clearer revision of the first page. These documents were found in the basement of Hank Snow’s Rainbow Ranch by rock and roll collector Stephen Shutts. Col. Tom Parker is widely regarded as having “discovered” Presley in the live performance sense and responsible for bringing him to the forefront. Snow’s statement explains, in his words, his involvement in discovering Presley and Snow’s claim for a lawsuit. The document reads in part, "Parker prepared a contract for Presley with what I thought was a contract with our agency. …It is to be understood ... that this Contract was signed between Parker and Presley – before we had agreed to dissolve the partnership.” Snow never proceeded with the lawsuit and Snow never made any money from his early work with Presley and Parker. Accompanied by letters of authenticity from Stephen Shutts and Presley collector Greg Page. 11 by 8 1/2 inches Categories: Elvis Presley
