A Michael Jackson “CTE” shirt. Jackson wore the shirt in 1993 to attend a charity event at the Hard Rock Café, Mexico City. The event benefitted Tere Alarcon orphanage for homeless children. The long-sleeve button-down shirt is made of lime corduroy with a burgundy armband and military style epaulettes. The armband is embroidered with a gold star in a hexagon with laurels; the epaulettes are embroidered “CTE.” Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush labels are on the interior. This style of shirt was favored by Jackson in the early 1990s. Designer Michael Bush explains in his book The King of Style : Dressing Michael Jackson (San Rafael: Insight Editions, 2012) that the letters “CTE” were picked at random and meant nothing but added to the mystery of Jackson’s style. No size present. A link to an online image of Jackson wearing this shirt is available upon request. Categories: Michael Jackson
