19th century (circa 1820-1830). Sofa of Neoclassical style with black painted wood frame with gilt accent banding. Sofa upholstered in yellow and light cream striped silk fabric upholsery. Rectangular seat cushion with two bands of yellow on white winged or plant embroidery on front. Accompanied with four accent throw pillow: one rectangular in yellow and cream striped silk upholsery, two of square form with cream colored diaper pattern design with looped fringe, and one of square form in olive green velvet with cream colored scrolled foliate decoration and brown corner orange/rust tassels. Height of sofa 34.5 inches, width 76.25 inches, depth 28.5 inches. Provenance: From the Estate of Mr. Thomas V. and Mrs. Marie B. Patton, Atlanta, Georgia.
