A Beatles “drop T” logo drumhead given by The Beatles to Madame Tussauds' wax works for display in 1964. The drumhead was hand painted by Edwin Stokes, who also painted five of the seven original Beatles drumheads. The Beatles were contacted by the museum in January 1964. Madame Tussauds wanted to install a wax-likeness exhibit of the band. The wax works not only sought the band’s blessing, but also a set of the band’s collarless suits and a Beatles logo bass drum to incorporate into the display, both of which the band provided. The display was unveiled with The Beatles on hand in April 1964. This is one of only three Beatles drumheads painted by Stokes known to still exist. Please note that this item is currently touring in the GRAMMY Museum ® exhibition " Ladies and Gentlemen ... The Beatles !" and will not be available to the winning bidder until late 2016 .
