A maroon preparatory school blazer worn by Todd Bridges as Willis Jackson in the television series Diff’rent Strokes (Norman Lear/Tandem, 1978-1986). The maroon blazer features a notch lapel, two-button front closure, yellow piping, and a school crest patch on the left breast. The patch is of Eastland School, the fictional school from the spin-off series The Facts of Life (Embassy, 1979-1988). Attached to the blazer is a production hold tag with “Boys, 16-18?, long, maroon prep school blazer, Facts of Life, Todd- D. Strokes” handwritten in black ink. Jackson wears this blazer with a different emblem in “Prep School” (Season 1, Episode 4). Mr. Drummond (played by Conrad Bain) get Willis and his younger brother Arnold (played by Gary Coleman) into his old alma mater and dresses them in matching prep school uniforms for their first day. Diff’rent Strokes was an American sitcom broadcasted on NBC. The series follows the misadventures of two young boys from Harlem who are adopted by a rich businessman. The classic American television series was known for exploring difficult topics such as racism, drug use, and sexual abuse while still remaining family friendly.
