A three-piece plaid skirt suit worn by Isabel Sanford as Louise Jefferson in the television sitcom The Jeffersons (Embassy Television, 1975-1985). The matching three-piece skirt suit, custom made for Sanford, is constructed out of a heavy wool blue and brown plain print material. Sanford can be seen wearing the dress at the beginning of “George and Whitty” (Season 4, Episode 16) when she rides the elevator with George and enters the apartment. Their landlord, Mr. Whittendale, may not renew their lease, so the Jeffersons invite him over to discuss. Just before Whittendale comes over, neighbor Harry Bentley drops his ant farm in the middle of their living room, infesting the apartment with ants. The vest is seen in “Jenny’s Thesis” (Season 4, Episode 26), when Louise speaks with Jenny about her plan to study and write about street gangs. Sanford is also featured on the cover of the complete Third Season DVD box set wearing this costume. The Jeffersons was an American sitcom broadcasted by CBS.
