A dance ensemble worn by Lynda Grey in Holiday Inn (Paramount, 1942) and in Star Spangled Rhythm (Paramount, 1942). This majorette costume consists of a red wool bodice with long sleeves, zipper back closure, blue and white velvet rolled piping at shoulders, ornamented with gold cording and beaded starburst patterns dotted with white sequins throughout the bodice and sleeve. Attached is a white satin short skirt with three rows of blue velvet stripes, with a multi-layer petticoat trimmed with red satin. The tall white leather majorette hat with black strap ornamented with red, white and blue feathers with silver stars was used in a subsequent production. An internal handwritten Paramount label reads “Linda [sic] Grey.” Grey wears this costume while performing with Bing Crosby during the Fourth of July routine in Holiday Inn as well as in Star Spangled Rhythm while parading past Bob Hope’s dressing room.
