A black and gold silk two-piece floral brocade period gown worn by Ann Blyth as Countess Marina Selanova in The World in His Arms (Universal, 1952). The gown consists of a sleeveless bodice trimmed in orange satin, black velvet, jet-like beads and gold lamé, “Ann Blythe UNI” inscribed on the interior, and a full skirt with gold lamé petticoat, pleated black tulle overlay and red satin underskirt, with hook and eye back closure. Post-production alterations are present. The gown was worn when Blyth meets Gregory Peck as Captain Jonathan Clark and he tours her around San Francisco. Designed by Bill Thomas.
