A black velvet gown worn by Anne Baxter as Tacey Cromwell in One Desire (Universal, 1955). The period black silk taffeta gown has velvet flocked floral pattern, V neckline with black pleated net and lace accents, black satin cuffs with eight black onyx buttons, accented with small round jet-like beads in leaf pattern along collar and cuffs, hook and eye with zip back closure. A Universal International label is inscribed “Anne Baxter.” The gown was worn when Rock Hudson as Clint Saunders comes by as Tacey is remodeling the house across from his into a gambling establishment and when Julie Adams as Judith Watrous tells her to get out of town.
