A nutmeg satin faille two-piece period ensemble worn by Dorothy Malone as Jeannie in Law and Order (Universal, 1953). The costume consists of a fitted bodice with trimmed-in braided satin cord and ivory lace trim to the collar and cuffs, three-quarter-length sleeves, box pleating to the cuffs, covered buttons, bustle and bow lined in a brown and ivory striped satin, with hook and eye with button and snap front closure, an ivory crepe camisole with hook and eye back closure and a full skirt with box pleat hem, and train lined in brown and ivory stripe with two additional rust panels added for subsequent production. The camisole and skirt have Universal International labels inscribed “Dorothy Malone.” Worn by Malone when she surprises Ronald Reagan and he tells her she is going to make a beautiful bride.
