Ringo Starr’s personal copy of the film script for Beatles Two , later re-named Help ! , (UA, 1965). The undated script is 122 pages with handwritten pencil notations, including a notation on the title page that reads “Courage Earlier?” In February of 1965 the Beatles flew to the Bahamas to begin filming. In March filming continued in Austria and in April and May sequences were filmed in Great Britain. The film, initially called Beatles Two was re-named Eight Arms to Hold You before the Beatles and director Richard Lester decided the film would be called Help !. While discussing Help ! and other Beatles films, Starr has said: “I think because I loved films I was less embarrassed than the others to be in one; John really got into the movie, too.”; “The storyline to Help ! was written around me and the theme of the ring, and of course, Kaili.
