$100,000
Another ring responsible for Richard becoming Ringo. This ring, circa 1920, is 10k yellow gold topped with a bezel set cushion shaped onyx. Starr was photographed wearing the ring as early as 1960 as seen in this hand dated photograph from his personal archive. Any survey of Beatles era photographs of Starr in which his hands are visible will reveal this ring consistently on his left ring finger. This iconic ring remained a constant throughout Starr's career as a Beatle during live performances, press conferences, everyday life and as Starr himself commented, he believes he wore this ring during every show he ever played with the Beatles. This piece is again more than a simple piece of jewelry but instead imbued with a sense of history given the fact that it witnessed the meteoric rise of arguably the greatest rock band of the 20th century.
