$1,280
American Federation of Musicians contract signed by Bill Graham and Bo Diddley. Dated June 29, 1970, for an engagement at the Fillmore West on July 16-19, 1970. For the performance Bo and his band were paid $2,000. Rarely did Bo Diddley sign his own contracts as Margo Lewis explains: "I started booking Bo Diddley in 1980 when I was an agent at a small booking agency in New York City. In 1983, I opened my own company and became Bo’s exclusive agent. Later, in 1992 when his manager of many years passed away, I became Bo’s personal manager, as well. Based upon my personal experience after having represented Bo for approximately 28 years, I can say without question that Bo Diddley rarely signed documents related to his entertainment career. While he signed many items for fans such as guitars, CDs, LPs and other items they brought with them to shows, he did not sign non-essential legal documents, including performance contracts. That is why the documents being offered in this auction are quite unique and rare. I have personally examined the performance contract and other documents offered in this auction and can confirm that they contain the signature of Bo Diddley." 11 by 8 1/2 inches Categories: Bo Diddley
