The friendship between Taylor and Jackson began in the 1980s and lasted throughout Jackson's lifetime. They shared a history of lost childhoods and a life lived under the spotlight. Taylor was a fierce defender of Jackson; Jackson expressed his affection by building a shrine to Taylor at Neverland where Taylor's films were played 24/7.
