Oil on masonite painting depicting a Southwestern desert landscape with layers of mountainous terrain in background under blue sky with scattered whispy clouds. A few green trees in the otherwise stark landscape. Obscured signature lower right "DIXON". Verso with remnant of label from business in "Spanish Village, Balboa Park, Studio 1", "San Diego California" with handwritten inscription that reads "With Best Wishes of Hermon L. Earnest'1825 Park Ave. Indianapolis, Ind. JUNE 1954". Framed 12.6" x 13.9". Unframed 9.25" x 10.5".
