Chinese, 19th century. Pair of finely executed matching silk embroidered textiles on eggshell colored silk depicting two flying spotted blue bats flaying around a light cream to pink peony flower composed of forbidden stitches with blue and white peonies in remaining scene contained in U shaped blue and white border ornamented with flowers and butterflies. Each measures approximately 19.75" x 11.25". Hooks on back for mounting on wall. Provenance: From the Collection of Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia.
