In 1987, while working in Ettore Sottsass' studio, Lawrence Laske was invited to submit a few lamp designs for the last Memphis show in Milan. Laske presented ten drawings of lamps to Sottsass who selected six of Laske’s designs to be prototyped (two of which were included in the Memphis Collection and exhibition). The lamps are all uniquely interactive, as a pin is utilized to raise and lower the arm, adjusting the pivoting light source.
This unique work is one of the six designs selected by Sottsass. Signed to underside: [Lawrence Laske].
