These chairs are from a suite of furniture designed by the studio of Jean Prouve for the officer's mess at the French Airforce sanitarium in Martel de Janville, Haute Savoie.
The suite was all finished in this distinctive red color. The chairs are of interest for their unique rear supports which flair at an angle from the seat support to connect with the legs.
