1965 fused glass 20 w in (51 cm)
Frances Higgins developed a technique of applying small chips of colored glass as decorative elements. Known as "Gemspread," the decoration was generally limited to smoking accessories or applied only to the rim of servers. The rare example offered here features "gems" of clear glass applied to the center of the dish. The flower design was not a production piece, but custom made as a gift from the Higgins'. The piece is engraved "For Ben with Love - Frances & Michael."
