Hendrick Van Keppel and Taylor Green began working as a design team in 1938; they originally designed their iconic outdoor furniture in 1947 and it remained in production until 1970. Utilizing military surplus, the furniture was originally made with gas pipes. It was later revised to enameled steel. Their clean-lined outdoor furniture became the standard of California modern.
