In 1963 Richard Anuszkiewicz was invited to create the holiday card for the Museum of Modern Art, New York. The small edition was a success and he was made cards for the MoMA again in 1964, 1965 and 1966. After the museum cards, Anuszkiewicz continued producing editions, working with his longtime print partner Norman Lassiter, each year until about 2006. The works typically related to what Anuszkiewicz was doing in his studio at that time. Never available commercially and produced in an edition of 150 or so, the Annual Editions were sent to friends, family and business associates.
