Carlo Mollino was an eccentric designer who absorbed motifs from his varied interests for inspiration. Women, sports, photography, race cars and fashion were Mollino's inspirations and subsequently his oeuvre engages elements of movement and drama. His experience with set and stage design and his fascination with the female form are particularly evident in his designs. This bed was created for the interior of Ada and Cesare Minola's residence in Turin in 1944. Mollino's approach to their interior was organic and experimental; he created many custom works for their space.
